The officer and the couple had “a serious, respectful conversation but it had some lightness to it,” according to Hwang.

Hwang notes that while some might chuckle at the incident, such actions put the occupants of the vehicle and the public at risk.

“Even though we regret being a buzzkill of sorts, we still have a job to do and to ensure that the public is safe.”
