Winnipegger Remi Laurencelle commits to Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team has recruited forward Remi Laurencelle for the upcoming season.

The Winnipegger scored a career high 58 points (28 goals and 30 assists) in 69 regular season games with the WHL’s Everett Silvertips last year. Laurencelle was also the team’s alternate captain in 2015-2016.

The 20-year-old finishes his WHL career with 130 points (57 goals and 73 assists) in 260 games split between Everett and the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

“This is a big signing for the Bisons as Remi was highly sought by several CIS hockey schools,” said men’s hockey head coach Mike Sirant in a statement. “We expect him to be a key offensive player for the Bisons. He is a very hard working and competitive player who will also provide solid leadership on and off the ice.”

Laurencelle is the fourth player the Bisons men’s hockey team has recruited for next season. Manitoba previously landed forwards Nick Zajac, Kamerin Nault and Quintin Lisoway.
