WINNIPEG — There will be no refunds for people who weren’t able to get into the Manitoba Airshow because of massive lineups.
“We were disappointed some people were unable to attend. Show tickets are non refundable,” read a statement posted Sunday night on the Airshow Facebook page.
Traffic jams on Highway 1 and regional roads around Portage La Prairie meant vehicles had to line up for hours to get into the show.

The delays meant lots of families abandoned the idea of attending the show and turned around to drive home.
Construction on Highway 1, unusable entrances to the show caused by bad weather were among the factors that made it so difficult for people to get in.
It was also the first Air Show in Manitoba since 2009. “The board and the charities we support are working diligently to identify improvements within our control for future events,” read the statement.
Global News has put in a request for an interview with air show organizers and will update with further information when received.
