Police determined the girl was under the truck at the time she was run over but are unsure how long the girl was there or why.

A neighbour told Global News she heard a teenage girl had been sleeping under the truck and was run over when the driver backed the vehicle out of his driveway.

The neighbour said the 55-year-old driver was very shaken by the incident.

The girl’s body will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

Members of the Traffic Response Unit have determined the driver’s actions were accidental and no charges will be laid.
