Visitors to the Assiniboine Park Zoo this weekend will be introduced to a few fresh faces with the introduction of baby reindeer and yak exhibits, along with Rupert, the newest Harbour seal. Additionally, a newborn musk ox also arrived Thursday.

The largest seal the zoo currently has, Rupert checks in at approximately six feet long and 87 kilograms and comes to the zoo via the New Brunswick Aquarium.

“It’s a very exciting time of year at the Zoo with so many baby animals and new attractions for our visitors to enjoy,”  Gary Lunsford, Head of Zoological Operations at Assiniboine Park Zoo said in a news release Friday. “The babies are healthy and growing fast and Rupert is enjoying his new home.”
