REGINA – Five youth have cost the province over $50,000 in losses after a campground was vandalized, according to the Saskatchewan government’s most recent report of quarterly losses.
The report says Camp Cosmo at Jackfish Lake Provincial Park was vandalized by the five youth. Prairie North Health Region owns the buildings and is now responsible for repairing the damage that is expected to exceed $50,000.
Prairie North Health Region also lost $2,262.80 after orthopedic supplies were stolen from the Lloydminister hospital.
Also included the report was an incident where a SaskPower employee cost the crown corporation $3351.01 after he was making personal charges on a corporate procurement card. The employee has been fired from SaskPower.
The report also indicated a SaskEnergy employee cost that crown corporation $4017.59 after he had backdated an application for gas service using the maiden name of his spouse despite the property being registered to the couple’s married name then failing to charge the correct amount required for the install. The employee was fired on Feb. 23.
