A risk of mould growing inside a popular spill-proof cup for children has caused a massive recall in Canada and the United States.
The recall affects five types of Tommee Tippee Sippee cups, according to Health Canada.
Health Canada has received seven consumer reports related to the recall, including one report of potential illness. The distributor, Mayborn USA Inc. has received 484 reports of mould in the removable, one-piece, white valve of the cups, including four reports of potential illness in Canada.

The plastic drinking cups have spill-proof tops, easy-grip sides with detachable handles and were sold in a variety of colours and character prints.
More than 220,000 of the cups were sold in in Canada and around 3.1 million in the U.S., from December 2014 through May 2016.
Mould ingestion poses a risk of gastrointestinal symptoms, and infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, according to Health Canada.
Consumers should stop using them and contact Mayborn for a free replacement.
