Winnipeg police ask for help finding suspect after Portage Ave robbery

WINNIPEG — Police are searching for a male suspect who attacked a woman and fled with her purse.

The robbery happened on May 16 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Officers responded to the area after reports of a robbery inside a business in the 400 block of Portage Avenue.

The 24-year-old female suspect suffered minor injuries from the attack.

The suspect is described as 30 to 35 years old, 5’10” with a medium build and black hair with a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was wearing sunglasses, a black hat, blue jeans and carrying a backpack.
