WINNIPEG — People living in South Point Douglas will be left in the dark Thursday night.

Manitoba Hydro is planning a power outage for the area between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening, affecting roughly 360 customers.

The affected area extends from Alexander Avenue north to Higgins Avenue and from Waterfront Drive, including Amy Street, west to Main Street.

The outage will allow Manitoba Hydro crews to safely raise distribution equipment to increase clearance for construction of the new Canada Games Sport For Life Centre and Qualico Training Centre on Pacific Avenue.
