KELOWNA, B.C. – Quick action from the Kelowna Fire Department saved flames from causing considerable damage to a home on Roepel Road Monday night.
Platoon Capt. John Kelly said smoke and flames were visible when they arrived at the home off Lakeshore Road around 6:30 p.m.
“We received a 911 call from the homeowner stating their home was on fire,” said Kelly.
The blaze began in the basement bathroom, according to Kelly.
No one was injured.
While the cause has not been determined, Kelly said the fire is not considered to be suspicious.
The basement of the home sustained heat and smoke damage.
