Police kept busy after two dangerous high-speed chases Thursday night

WINNIPEG — A Winnipeg man now faces 16 charges after he led police on a high-speed chase Wednesday night.

Witnesses told police they saw a man with a gun near Polo Park around 6 p.m. Thursday.  He fled on foot to the parking lot where he confronted a driver and forced her out of the car.

Police say he was driving extremely fast as he fled the scene but was eventually stopped and arrested on Portage Avenue and Goulding Street.

28-year-old Randy Terrance Ryle has been arrested and faces 16 charges including robbery with a firearm, theft, driving dangerously and resisting arrest.

An hour later, police were led on another high-speed chase after a robbery in the 100 block of St. Anne’s Road.  That chase grew so dangerous police say they were ‘forced to abort’.

The car was later found near Bishop Grandin Blvd and a 31-year-old man was arrested.

Alexander Branislav Jovanovich has been charged with three counts of robbery, driving dangerously and a series of other charges.
