Regina police warn residents after man exhibits ‘suspicious behaviour’ around teens

REGINA – Police are reminding parents to talk to their children about safety after a man was reported talking to teenage girls and asking suspicious questions.

According to Regina police, a vehicle driven by a man stopped and talked to a 15-year-old girl at a bus stop near McDougall Crescent and Grant Road on May 9.
Police say the man repeatedly asked if he could drive the girl to school.

Then on May 12, near Wesley Road and Grant Road, a man had a similar conversation with another 15-year-old girl at a bus stop.

Both incidents happened between 7:50 a.m. and 8 a.m. and police believe the same man was involved. In both cases, the girls reported the incident to an adult and then to police.

The suspect is described as a black man, between 20-years-old and 30-years-old,with little or no facial hair and is mostly bald. He also has no piercings or tattoos, no glasses, and was wearing a buttoned shirt.

Police say the man was driving a medium, silver car and was polite, but persistent.

At this time, police say no crime has occurred but they are releasing the information as a precaution.

They are also reminding parents to tell their children to be aware of their surroundings, try to have a friend with you and do not approach a vehicle if you do not know who is inside.
