Edmonton Transit System has launched an online tool that will allow travelers access the ETS Trip Planner, Bus Stop Schedule, Saved Locations and @takeETSalert Twitter feed on a new mobile website.
The site is optimized for use with smartphones, including browsers on iPhones, iPads and Android.
By using the tool on your phone or touch pad, you can plan your LRT or bus trip, save locations you visit often, and be notified of detours and bus stop closures by route and/or bus stop.

Edmonton Transit says it chose to use a mobile site over an app format to make it more accessible on all kinds of platforms.
“A mobile website crosses all platforms, so it makes it a little easier for customers. They don’t have to download it from an app store, a website is just free from Edmonton Transit, and it’s easily accessible,” says Janis Noble, Interactive Marketing coordinator with ETS.
She says, with our busy summer season, and leading into fall, the site couldn’t come at a better time.
“The launch of this is perfect timing because of all the festivals in the city,” says Noble. “Not long from now, we’ll have back to school, and they’ll be lots of kids taking the bus to school and planning trips, so with the festivals and back to school, the timing of this is perfect.”
ETS consulted with the public about the site, and made changes based on their feedback, prior to launching the final product this week.
