2 Toronto teens charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal west-end stabbing

Police have charged two teenagers with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Saed Keyliye in west-end Toronto earlier this year.

Toronto police said Keyliye was found with multiple stab wounds behind a highrise apartment building at The West Mall near Rathburn Road just after 7 p.m. on Feb. 3. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toronto police Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan said surveillance video appeared to show two males being chased by two others, before one of them was caught and stabbed.

On Monday, police identified the deceased as Keyliye of Toronto and said an autopsy determined the cause of death was a stab wound.

On Wednesday, Toronto police, with the assistance of Peel Regional police, arrested two 17-year-old boys and charged them with second-degree murder.

They were scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Thursday and cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Investigators said no other suspects were being sought at this time.
