TORONTO – Baskin-Robbins says it will shut down a plant in Peterborough, Ont., that has been “operating around the clock” to churn out ice cream, but has not been able to keep pace with growing demand.
The well-known ice cream maker said Wednesday the plant will close in October and ice cream production for Canadian Baskin-Robbins shops will shift to Scotsburn Dairy of Truro, N.S. Here are some numbers behind the Baskin-Robbins ice cream industry in Canada:
