Man suffers serious injuries in northwest Calgary sports bar stabbing

Calgary police are investigating a violent incident at a bar in the community of Thorncliffe.

It happened at Tops Pizza and Sports Bar in the 5600 block of 4 Street N.W. at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Investigators said a man armed with a knife attempted to rob an employee in bar.

One man was stabbed during the incident. He was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police took one man into custody and say charges are pending
