The man accused in the shooting death of a young woman outside a downtown bar has been sentenced to nine years in prison, less 2.5 years credit for time served.
Twenty-two-year-old Hussein Ibrahim pleaded guilty to manslaughter the death of 26-year-old Natasha Mohamed Farah.

Ibrahim had been charged with second-degree murder, but reached a plea deal on the lesser charge of manslaughter on Friday.
Farah was an innocent bystander who was shot and killed outside of a downtown bar on 11 Avenue and 1 Street S.W. in 2014.
Ibrahim was scheduled to stand trial in July.

Farah’s family was in court Friday, during which time the prosecution read an emotional victim impact statement from her mother.
“Every time I remember this nightmare, I cry,” said Naima Ismail’s statement. “In my heart I forgive the one who caused her death.”
Ibrahim addressed the family in court, saying he was deeply sorry.
“That night was my birthday…I drank too much…I couldn’t control my actions,” he said. “I can’t change the past but I want to say I’m very, very sorry…and I hope you can forgive me.”
