An Alabama pilot was fortunate to walk away from a fiery plane crash that was captured on surveillance video.
“I don’t know how he lived through the crash,” Adam Bond told WPMI in Mobile, Ala.
The video shows the Cessna 421 plane hit the tops of the trees and come to a rest near the base before bursting into flames.
Amid the falling branches and leave, a woman can be seen running towards the plane.
“I was sitting in my office and I heard a crash and when I looked out of the window, limbs were falling and a plane was in the tree,” said Aubrey Morris, who along with Bond and another person came to the aid of the pilot.
“All of a sudden I saw the door come open a little bit and I started looking and he opened it and we ran in,” he said. “I told him fall out of the airplane don’t jump.”
“He was rolling around kind of lost basically and came to the tail section and we all three got him out,” Bond said.
Police said the pilot declined medical treatment.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.
