The first half marathon runner over the finish line this year was Duncan Marsden.

“It’s great, it’s really good. The crowd out there and the support is amazing,” Marsden said. “I had two police officers escorting me the whole way. It was really good.”

The event raises money for the Calgary Police Service and students at Mount Royal University.

Global News’ Leslie Horton hosted the event.
