Rugby is usually known for sporting some of the toughest athletes on the planet.
But this week, one Ontario rugby player showed his romantic side on the pitch, proposing to his girlfriend.
David Jones, a member of the Stoney Creek Camels, carried the ball up field during a game this week in Stoney Creek, Ont. He was eventually tackled by the opposition, but was slow to get back to his feet.
Jones remained on one knee as his girlfriend, Terri Burns the Camel’s sports athletic therapist came onto the field to take a look at his injury.
It was then Jones surprised Burns with a small ring box he had been hiding, and asked her to marry him. Burns, clearly surprised, said yes to a huge cheer from both teams on the field.
