Washington State sheriffs are searching for two men wanted in connection with the murders of a former B.C. woman and her husband.
Monique Patenaude and Patrick Shunn, who live just south of the border, went missing earlier this month. Police now believe they were murdered.
Officers are now searching for 53-year-old John Blaine Reed and his brother, 49-year-old Tony Clyde Reed. Police say both men are convicted felons and are believed to be armed and dangerous.
Video surveillance footage viewed by police has tied the Reed brothers to the disposal of Shunn and Patenaude’s vehicles. Evidence collected at the scene and at the home of John Reed has led detectives to believe the couple were victims of a homicide.
“The recovery of Patrick and Monique is our agency’s number one priority right now, for the sake of their families,” said Sheriff Ty Trenary in a release. “Our second priority is getting the Reed brothers into custody and off the streets.”
Investigators found a vehicle belonging to John Reed in Ellensburg, Washington, yesterday. It is believed that both John and Tony Reed were recently in the Ellensburg area, but their current location is unknown.
Detectives have confirmed that the Reed brothers are in possession of a red 2007 Volkswagen EOS Coupe with Washington plates AXH5106, a vehicle that belongs to their parents.
John Reed is 5’8”, 190 lbs. with hazel eyes and grey hair. Tony Reed is 5’11”, 150 lbs. with green eyes and grey hair.
