EDMONTON – Family, friends and neighbours are marking a sombre anniversary on Friday.
April 15, 2016 will mark one year since 44-year-old Paula Stiles was found dead inside her Sherwood Park home. An autopsy confirmed her death as a homicide, but RCMP still have not said how she was killed and no one has been arrested in her murder.

Brett Stiles, Paula’s brother, said his family still struggles with her death.
“We feel her absence every day as she was such an integral part of our family. Paula was a compassionate and hard-working mother, daughter and sister, who has three wonderful girls who continue to come to terms with this appalling crime,” Brett Stiles said.
“As with all murders, it is without reason or comprehension. Paula will live on in the memories, prayers and actions of others, especially her children who portray her fine qualities. The pain and suffering of this loss will never go away, all due to this one cowardly act.
“Paula would be proud of her wonderful daughters for being so strong in spirit and mind, as we all are.”
Brett Stiles said his family continues to support the RCMP in its investigation and is confident those involved in his sister’s murder will be brought to justice.
Global News reached out recently to the RCMP for an update on the investigation but was told it is ongoing and there aren’t any new details or information which may be released at this time.
Officers are still asking anyone who might have information to come forward.
At the time of her death, police questioned family members, including Stiles’ estranged husband, Ken Haeberle, as witnesses. Investigators also executed a search warrant on his rural property east of Sherwood Park near Ardrossan.
RCMP were also looking for two teenagers on skateboards who were near the Foxhaven neighbourhood where Stiles lived. Police stressed the teens were not suspects, but that they may have heard or seen something and just don’t realize the significance of it.
