A witness provided first aid until RCMP officers arrived and applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg to stem the bleeding.

Cpl. Jesse O’Dongahey says the victim was near unconsciousness and not fully cooperating with investigators at the scene.

“Initial findings at the scene indicate that the alleged serious assault took place inside an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Pandosy Street,” says O’Donaghey in a news release. “It appears as though the victim exited a residence searching for help.”

Serious crimes investigators are following up on several leads and are hoping to hear from anyone with information.
