Cocaine, meth seized in Saskatoon drug bust

SASKATOON – Police have seized cocaine and methamphetamine and two men are facing charges following a drug bust in Saskatoon. The bust comes after a drug trafficking investigation was launched on March 22 by members of the integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST).

As a result of the investigation, police say they saw a drug transaction take place during the evening of April 1 in a parking lot on 24th Street near 6th Avenue North.

One man, 25, was arrested at the scene.

A second man, 36, was arrested a short distance away. Police say they found 37.8 grams of cocaine, 72.2 grams of meth, pepper spray and cash in his possession.

The following day, police searched an apartment in the 300-block of 6th Avenue North where they seized 55.25 grams of meth and $26,650 in cash.

The 25-year-old man is facing a number of charges including possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday.

The 36-year-old man is facing charges of possession of cocaine and meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was scheduled to appear today in provincial court.
