4 men arrested after drug raids at 7 Edmonton-area homes

EDMONTON – Four men have been charged with several drugs-related offences after about $170,000 worth of cash and drugs were seized from Edmonton-area homes.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) and Strathcona County RCMP worked together to search seven homes in the Edmonton area on March 1.

Besides the cash and drugs, police also seized a handgun and about 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

The total items seized include:

  • A loaded Walther P38 handgun
  • 1,000 rounds of various caliber ammunition
  • 300 grams of cocaine
  • 20 kilograms of a cocaine buffing agent
  • 8 grams of psilocybin
  • 14 oxycodone pills
  • 9 MDMA pills
  • Packaging, scales and other drug trafficking paraphernalia
  • $95,000 cash proceeds of crime

No arrests were made when the homes were searched. On March 29, four suspects surrendered to police.

Mark Agar, 38, Sean McDermott, 38, Harrold Denny, 36 and Jonathon Pederson, 34, were charged with a total of 32 criminal offences.

The joint investigation between ALERT and Strathcona County RCMP began in January.
