Man in life-threatening condition after falling from scaffolding north of Calgary

A man believed to be in his 50s was flown to hospital after falling several metres from scaffolding and landing on concrete.

It happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday at a property next to Range Road 44, south of Township Road 292 in Mountain View County, which is 100 kilometres north of Calgary.

Alberta Health Services said the man fell approximately two or three metres from the scaffolding.

EMS responded, stabilized and treated the man. He was then flown to the Foothills Medical Centre by STARS Air Ambulance. They don’t know yet what led up to the fall.

AHS said the man suffered a head injury and is in “potentially life-threatening” condition.
