Three more Edmonton golf courses are now open thanks to the warm weather the Capital Region’s been enjoying lately.
Rundle Park and Victoria golf courses opened Friday and Riverside Golf Course is expected to open “soon,” a city news release said.
“It is a bit earlier due to the fantastic weather we’ve been having,” Kristi Bland with the city said.
She said it’s the earliest opening since 1994.
Both Rundle and Victoria courses will be open on permanent greens. Because of early season conditions, carts will not be permitted at either course for a while. The Victoria driving range is already open as is Billy D’s Driving Range.
Mill Woods Golf Course opened its driving range on March 12. It opened all 18 permanent greens Thursday.
Golfers are encouraged to check online or call 311 before heading out to a municipal course.

Edmontonians have also been hitting patios a little earlier this year.
On March 11, temperatures soared to 12°C and customers flocked to outdoor patios along Whyte Ave.
“I love it. I love this weather, it makes me happy,” Keely Ellis said as she sat at a table with friends at O’Byrne’s Irish Pub. “It’s kind of strange… March, I’m on a patio in a tank top? I love it.”
