Caught on camera: adults steal Easter eggs off lawn meant for boy with Down syndrome
WATCH ABOVE: A Florida couple and two kids were seen on home security video taking Easter eggs off of a lawn that was meant for a two-year-old boy with Down syndrome – Mar 30, 2016

Surveillance footage caught a couple and two kids stealing Easter eggs meant for a toddler with Down syndrome.

The unidentified suspects were seen in the home security video approaching the lawns of Janet and Michael Ford and taking the plastic decorated eggs meant for Gabriel, 2.

The family had gone to church and were told neighbours had put the eggs out for the young boy for when they returned home.

However, when the Fords arrived at their house, they noticed the eggs were gone, which was especially upsetting for the parents since the Easter egg hunt was also suppose to double up as a physical therapy session for their son.

Gabriel was also born with his ring and middle fingers bounded and recently had them separated through surgery. And picking things up, such as Easter eggs, was part of his therapy.

At first, the footage shows the two adult suspects only taking a couple of the plastic eggs, but then returning with a few kids to collect the rest of the objects. On top of that, the couple came back a third time during the night.

Fortunately, a bad situation turned good.

Residents, neighbours and even local officials rallied together to create a new Easter egg hunt for Gabriel.

According to KNSD News, police have the identities of the suspects seen in the surveillance video but have yet to “speak with the group.”

The suspects could by charged with petty theft.
