No foul play suspected in the death of 16-year-old Delaine Copenace: coroner

A coroner’s examination has found no evidence of foul play in the death of 16-year-old Delaine Copenace.

The examination done in Toronto showed her cause of death was drowning.

Her body was discovered by Kenora city officials at the end of Water Street in Lake of the Woods on March 22, nearly a month after she was reported missing on Feb. 28.

Copenace’s disappearance sparked an enormous search effort reaching as far as Winnipeg.
