Summary: A middle-class riding in the northern end of the city, NDP MLA Dave Chomiak seeks a seventh term in Kildonan.
Boundaries: The riding is bordered by the Red River to the east and McPhillips Street to the west. Its southern border is Inkster Boulevard to the west of the rail line, and Kilbride Avenue to the east of it.
Last Election: Chomiak defeated PC challenger Darrell Penner by just under 2000 votes, 59-36 per cent.

History: Outside of 1988, the NDP have won Kildonan in every election since 1966, usually by wide margins. But the PCs have increased their vote here the last two elections, from 15 per cent in 2003, to 35 per cent in 2011.
