The victim was found unconscious and believed to have drowned in a nearby backyard pond.

Subsequent investigation has resulted in a charge of criminal negligence causing death being laid against 58-year-old Sriranganathan Ampalam of 21 Carrying Place.

Toronto Police are requesting that people avoid using VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phones as they do not provide police with the caller information that regular phones give police – allowing them to locate the caller.
