A U.S. tug boat has reportedly run aground near Campbell River.
The Coast Guard is on scene in Johnstone Strait, close to Rock Bay, to assess the environmental risk.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m.
The five people on board were not hurt.
Officials say there is no pollution from the incident, although the tug boat is carrying a significant amount of diesel fuel. Crews are currently trying to keep the risk of a spill as low as possible.
