One person is dead and two others are injured after a construction accident in a residential area in Chilliwack this morning.

B.C. Air Ambulance says they were called to Tamihi Way in Chilliwack at 7:50 a.m. Four ground and one Air Ambulance were sent to the construction site.

One person was killed at the site and one person was seriously injured while they were pouring concrete and struck by concrete boom at 8 a.m. on March 11. The injured man was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. WorkSafeBC confirmed another person was injured in the accident but their current condition is unknown.

BC Coroners identified the man killed in the accident as 24-year-old Sebastian Gomez Obando.

Reports indicate there was an accident involving a concrete pump truck and a boom.
