Five arrested in Ontario after brazen robbery, assault in Harbour Landing

Five people were arrested in Ontario after a business in Harbour Landing was robbed, and one of its employees assaulted. Global News

REGINA – Five men have been charged in the robbery of a Rogers store in Harbour Landing.

According to Regina police, Alfred Kamara, Salem Koudia, Kudzai Tapfumanei Mugadya, Jiel Simon Uguak, all 22 years old, and 18-year-old Desmond L. Wallace, were arrested in Wawa, Ont. by the Ontario Provincial Police.

All of the accused were transported back to Regina.

The robbery took place at the Rogers store in the 4600 block of Gordon Road. Police said four masked, black suspects entered the store and aggressively demanded merchandise.

The men also allegedly assaulted a 32-year-old employee, then took him to the back of the store and secured him there. The employee was not seriously injured and the suspects left the store with a substantial amount of electronics.

At the time, police also said there had been similar robberies recently in other western Canadian cities.

The five men made their first appearance in Provincial Court Wednesday afternoon. Charges are expected but not available at this time.
