Newly released video shows the first time a Google self-driving car being tested in public was involved an accident.
The Lexus SUV, outfitted by Google with special sensors, collided with a public bus on Valentine’s Day in Mountain View, California.
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority released the video and post-crash photos this week to The Associated Press under a public records request. It shows the Lexus edging into the path of a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus and hitting its right side. Cameras on the bus recorded the collision.

Though the bus was going only 15 mph, the impact damaged the side and front of the Lexus.
No one was injured. The car was towed.
A transit agency spokeswoman says the bus driver was not to blame. Google has accepted partial responsibility. It has said other collisions during public testing were caused by other drivers.
