EDMONTON – It’s only the first day of the new Alberta legislature sitting, but there have already been allegations of rule-breaking and even a do-over.

Opposition house leader Nathan Cooper says many NDP members didn’t show up and the government was in danger of losing a minor, but embarrassing vote for a Wildrose candidate.

Cooper says NDP members, including government house leader Brian Mason, then ignored the barred doors and flooded in.

There were opposition complaints, however, and Speaker Bob Wanner called for a revote, which the NDP won.
