Elderly woman struck and killed by vehicle in Selkirk

A 76-year-old Selkirk woman has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road in Selkirk.

The crash happened around noon Monday on Main street near Daerwood School.

Police said a vehicle travelling northbound hit the woman when she was using the cross walk.

She was rushed to hospital where she later died. The two people in the vehicle were not inured.

Alcohol is not being considered a factor at this time.

Police are investigating.
