RCMP investigate fatal dirt bike collision southwest of Edmonton

A 30-year-old man was killed Saturday night in a collision involving a dirt bike.

Leduc RCMP were called to investigate a collision between a dirt bike and a parked semi-trailer at around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.

Officers said the man was riding a dirt bike down 50 Street in Calmar when he struck the back of the parked semi.

Leduc Emergency Services also responded to the call. The dirt bike driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one was inside the semi-trailer at the time and police said no one else was involved in the crash.

The victim’s name is not being released.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Calmar is located about 50 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
