When it comes to decorating kids’ rooms, trying to balance a theme they like with a design you can live with doesn’t have to be difficult.
It also doesn’t have to be expensive.
The first thing you want to do is choose a look your child will like. What are your kids really in to? It might be Star Wars or baseball. Maybe it’s a favourite colour or a cartoon character. This will help you establish a point of reference to look to as you buy everything you need to make the space look great.
From there, you need to set a budget.

Lifestyle expert and design consultant Jackie Morra says by changing up the bedding or adding wall decals, you can completely transform a room without breaking the bank.
If you can afford to spend a bit more, you might want to consider something larger like a wall mural.
Another cool option is to decorate the floor. For example, if your child is a sports fan, you can use artificial grass or coloured turf.
Morra says chalk paint is always a hit with children of all ages and window coverings that are cordless and automated are a great way to change the look of a room without committing a major overhaul.
