SASKATOON – The City of Saskatoon is making it easier for people to point out problem areas on streets. The “Report a Traffic Issue” map has been launched and is available online via desktops, smart phones and tablet devices.
It’s an interactive map that allows people to pinpoint their concerns associated with traffic, road signage and safety on any Saskatoon street. There are nine categories to choose from including cycling safety, pedestrians, construction hiccups, speeders, signage and traffic jams.

Map users can also add images and provide an explanation for the issue.
Once submitted, reports will not show up on the public map. This is so other people will not be deterred from making additional reports for the same issue and city engineers can better determine the priority of an issue.
The transportation division addresses concerns in residential areas. Otherwise, issues are investigated on a case-by-case basis and action depends on assessment and funding.
A customer service representative will respond to those who make a report within two business days, according to the city.
Officials say they can also use data from the new tool to assess developing trends.
