EDMONTON – In the third big move of the day by the Edmonton Oilers, Forward Teddy Purcell has been traded to the Florida Panthers.
Edmonton gets a 2016 third round draft pick in return.
Purcell has 11 goals and 21 assists in 61 games this season.
He has 98 goals and 196 assists over nine season with Edmonton, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Los Angeles Kings.
Earlier Saturday, the Oilers announced defenceman Justin Schultz had been traded by the Edmonton Oilers to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Oilers also announced Saturday that goaltender Anders Nilsson was traded to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for goaltender Niklas Lundstrom and a 2016 fifth round draft pick.

The Oilers recalled goaltender Laurent Brossoit from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
The Oilers have had a top-10 pick in each of the past seven drafts, including four No. 1 overall selections. Edmonton seems destined for another spot in the draft with a 22-34-7 record, worst in the NHL heading into Saturday night’s games.
