City holding open house for future of downtown dog park

WINNIPEG — If you live in downtown Winnipeg and dream about walking in an off-leash dog park with your pet, you my want to speak up in order for it to become a reality.

The city is asking the for the public’s input as they explore options to create an off-leash dog park in Winnipeg’s core.

The city said a neighbourhood dog park in the area will help build stronger community ties by fostering social meet ups for pets and people.

It will also encourage downtown living and help make dog ownership more accessible, the city said in a media release.

If you would like to voice your opinion about the park, there is an open house at the Millennium Library at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
