FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A search is underway in northeastern B.C. for the person who shot a horse as it stood in a pasture just steps away from a Fort St. John home.
Owner Lynette Kitt says she’s certain the shooter was trying the kill the horse, but the small calibre bullet just missed the jugular vein, leaving the animal agitated and in pain, but alive.

RCMP were called after a dark coloured SUV pulled into the driveway of the home on Monday evening and stopped just long enough for someone inside to fire a shot.
The vehicle sped away before family members could get a good description.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it’s lucky no one was seriously injured because the paddock where the horse was standing is directly in front of the house.
Kitt says she has heard of similar shootings in the region since the Monday night attack, but RCMP are only confirming investigation of a single incident. (MooseFM)
