TORONTO – The Toronto Zoo’s twin panda cubs have reached a new milestone. They’re now both spending quality time with their mom.
A new video released by the zoo shows the two cubs cuddling up to their mother Er Shun.

Giant pandas are unable to care for two cubs simultaneously, so the zoo was “twin-swapping” the pair for their first four months of life, leaving one with Er Shun and the other in an incubator.
“Er Shun’s first reaction was to try picking up both cubs at once, something she had difficulty with since the cubs are now quite large,” the zoo said in a Facebook post. “Moving forward, they will continue to spend more time altogether.”
The twins continue to grow, and now weigh 6.6 pounds and 5.5 pounds, respectively. However, they’re not available for public viewing until mid-March as the zoo says they remain “in a critical period in their lives.”
The two cubs, born on Oct. 13, 2015, are the first giant pandas ever born in Canada.
