BROSSARD – Montreal Canadiens defenceman Nathan Beaulieu will miss at least one game with a lower-body injury.

The 24-year-old didn’t make the trip to Washington, where the Canadiens will face the Capitals on Wednesday night.

It wasn’t known how long he would be out of action.

Beaulieu appeared to injure his right knee when he was shoved heavily into a goalpost while driving to the net at 5:35 of the third period of the Canadiens 2-1 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators on Monday night.

Beaulieu has two goals and 15 assists in 56 games this season.

The injury came on the same day the Canadiens learned defenceman Tom Gilbert will require season-ending knee surgery.
