Blue Jays’ Dickey recovering from knee surgery

Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey has revealed he underwent knee surgery in this past off-season, but expects to be in shape for the upcoming season, according to reports.

Pitchers and catchers are reporting to Dunedin, Fla., For the start of training camp, where the 41-year-old knuckleballer told MLB.com he’s on the mend from a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Dickey reportedly sustained the injury at the end of last season, which might account for a poor post-season performance where he pitched 1.2 innings, giving up four earned runs to Kansas City, running up at 21.6 ERA.

Dickey is entering his fourth and possibly final season with Toronto. The former Cy Young winner will be a free agent come season’s end.
