WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The BCHL Warriors have earned a spot in the playoffs following an exciting win on home ice Friday night.

With just five seconds left in a game tied at 4-4 against the Vernon Vipers, Warrior Garrett Forster’s shot deflected off the skate of Vernon’s Liam Finlay for the 5-4 win.

West Kelowna forward and Montreal native Jonathan Desbiens was named first star of the game. Desbiens continued to improve the franchise goal record with two more points, for a total of 44 goals this season.

The Warriors outshot Vernon 45-33.

West Kelowna travels to Salmon Arm Feb 26.

Vernon visits the Mainland Division-leading Chilliwack Chiefs Feb 20.
