Okotoks man found in Kananaskis, treated for injuries

Okotoks RCMP and family members have found a 19-year-old who’d been reported missing two days ago, police said Friday night.

Zachary Lavin had last been seen leaving his home in the southern Alberta town on Feb. 17 at around 4 p.m. He was on his way to work in Blackfalds, Alta., but never showed up.

His family was concerned for his well-being, and started an “extensive search” along with RCMP. Lavin was found alive in the Kananaskis area Friday.

RCMP said he was being treated for “exposure and sustained injuries” in a statement.

Police thanked the public for their help in the matter.
