EDMONTON – RCMP in west-central Alberta believe alcohol was involved in an early morning rollover on a rural road that left one young man dead.
Rocky Mountain House RCMP, Clearwater Fire Department and EMS were called around 2 a.m. Wednesday to a rural road north of Caroline.
A Ford F250 pickup truck driving on Arbutus Road lost control, abruptly swerved off the road and flipped several times, according to RCMP.

Emergency crews arrived to find two young men had been thrown from the truck. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
The driver, a 21-year-old man from the Rocky Mountain House area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Family was notified and his name is not being released.
The 22-year-old man in the passenger seat, who was from the same area, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. A RCMP traffic collision analyst was called to the scene, and charges are pending on the outcome of the investigation.
Caroline is about 80 kilometres southwest of Red Deer.
