UPDATE (Feb. 25): Prince George RCMP have arrested two people in relation to the assault.

Prince George residents Ashlynn Noel Ruth Forrest, 26, and Jeff John Lapier, 33 have been charged with attempted murder. 

Prince George RCMP are investigating a serious assault from early this morning.

Just after 5 a.m., they received a report of an assault in the Moore’s Meadow area of the city, off Foothills Boulevard.

The female victim has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are currently in the area and have a portion on Foothills Boulevard from 1st Avenue to Otway Road closed. Investigators are asking the public to take an alternate route and to stay out of Moore’s Meadow Park until further notice.

The search for a suspect or suspects is continuing, however investigators believe this was a targeted attack and that public safety is not in jeopardy.
